I must adamit, a lot of code examples and template hacks assume you know something about programming, and 'stuff' like that. Even blogger, as simple as it is, still requires that you know something about html to modify the template. But a lot of people don't. They just want to have a cool blog, not program. If I remember right, and an old salty dog like me, could be wrong, but I think typepad.com has a pretty simple system that lets you add features, change templates and stuff like that all through an interface with no html knowledge required.
