Have you all read about the blogger from Singapore who was banned because he over criticised the Government? It got me wondering. Is big brother always monitering our blogs? There are millions out there. Do they really have the manpower to do that? I really dunno lah.
Ya, I know, a lot of young idealistic people likes to demand what they call a freedom of expression. They like their views to be heard and taken account for. They have their own opinions which they think is always right. Again I dunno if this is good or bad. Speaking from a father’s and a boss’s point of view, I think it does not auger well for the family as a father and it does the Compay no good if seened from the eye of the boss.
I certainly wouldn’t want my kids telling me that this is not good for the family and that should be done to improve the food. I also certainly wouldn’t want my employees to start protesting in public about having no freedom in my company. I mean, come on, a family has some family regulations. A Company too has Company policies. If you choose to work for the Company, you got to play by the Company’s rule. If you are such an idealist and find that the Company doesn’t have what you asked for, leave. Go start your own Company. Do it your ideal way. See whether this world is really so ideal. Similarly, if you find that the country that you are residing sucks so much, migrate. Why stay and make so much noise? Nobody is forcing you right?
Call me old fashioned. Call me a man with no ideals. But if I don’t like what I see and I know I don’t have the power to change, I leave. Why complain to everybody you meet that your boss is an idiot. That your boss is a moron. Hey, he is the boss, man. If you are smarter than him, why is he the boss? I really can’t stand people like that.
What I am trying to say is, the idealist is nothing but one selfish human. He wants people to do things his ideal way, not caring or stopping to think that maybe people are doing things their ideal way. If things are not done his way, he starts complaining. He starts bashing. He starts throwing childish tantrums. Oi! Grow up lah! You think this world, you alone living ah?

33 mins after the fact.wah lau. i think ahpek should sit on the throne./
36 mins after the fact.talk is cheap.
50 mins after the fact.Gua undi sama lu! Ranting about it once in a while when the thing really, really concerns the person is ok. But when people spend their daily complaining over every single thing they read on the paper, duh, get a life and go wank better.
2 hours after the fact.No offence. But I do think that sometimes it’s our:
1) “Yeah, it’s liddat ge laa!”
2) “This is Malaysia.”
3) “This is life.”
kind of attitude that make us Malaysian CHINESE remain on the same ground un-moved, un-changed & un-improved for so many decades.
And so, my questions to you are:
1) Are we being kiasu?
2) Are we being kiasi?
3) Are we waiting for OTHERS to do the dirty job for us?
Cheers,

Interesting subject. Won’t surprise me if FBI, CIA, and Interpol have some super search engines that focus on certain topics and terms. I’m okay with that if they can tell the difference between a terrorist and fictional writing.
Agree that family rules should be upheld and company policies should be followed. If someone cannot do that, then they need to leave.
Idealists are good when they make a better life. But if the idealism is just a vindictive rant unable of producing any value. That needs to be shut down or labeled to hold little value.
One think I believe is that everyone has a right to speak. But none of us has the right to be heard.

I agree with SA.
The way I see it, ranting is ranting. We rant and move on. Those who complains and actually does something about it, I believe they are the idealists in your context. Meanwhile, those who whinge and merely sitting back, are just the ones we hear in coffee shops everyday - annoying.
Idealists, in my context however, are the ones who knows that we appear not to be able to change what we dislike for the well-being of the society, but still hold infallible principles and optimism to make ourselves heard, which is something pretty rare.
Those who lost hope or give up, either leave or reamin suffering and whinging…

is this ah pek speaking? you sound like one of those brainless MP. haha. jangan marah ya. ah pek. remember the “you tak suka, you keluar dari malaysia” MP?
life is not as simple as that.
a blog is like our personal diary, so if we see something we don’t like in the paper/what the gomen did, why shouldn’t we rant about it? i hate it when people says that you rant and complain but you never do anything about it. tell me, how many percentage of bloggers actually DO something about it? most talk about it in their blogs, that’s all… airing their personal views in their blogs… you don’t expect them to go right up to the gomen and demand for changes or what.
same thing goes for forums too. you go to a forum and you see people complaining about this and that lah… why shouldn’t they, as it is a forum for them to speak out thier personal opinion. only for certain issues, something can be done but for certain issues, nothing can be done except complaining (to let go!) in the forums.
16 hours after the fact.but ahpek, walking away is not always the best solution..
